HeliTrain is the only dedicated training provider of quality helicopter pilot training in Hamilton, Waikato. Everyone has different ways and speeds of learning and therefore we offer a tailored approach to each individual. As a professional training provider, our programmes adhere to the strict NZ CAA syllabus. Commercial Pilot students are encouraged to gain as many Pilot in Command hours as possible during the course and to join us during commercial operations such as Frost protection work, underslung load work and scenic flights. Our operating base is within controlled airspace at an international airport and there are great training specific areas all within 10 minutes flying.
Our modern purpose built training facility is at the busy Hamilton Airport adjacent to the main passenger terminal – the busy air traffic control zone provides outstanding real training that sets professional helicopter pilots up for the rest of their career.
Our fleet is modern, maintained to Part 135 air transport standards and available for private hire to all of our students once they are appropriately qualified. We operate an R44, with access to Bell 206, Bell 206L, AS350, Airbus H120 and H130 helicopters for type specific ratings or flight reviews.
